VinylPlus-Led Pyrolysis Project Receives INEOS Inovyn Gold Award
ARCUS Greencycling Technologies has won the Gold Award from INEOS Inovyn for advancing PVC recycling through pyrolysis.
Thanks to the financial support of VinylPlus® and the strong collaboration with VinylPlus partners’ experts in advanced recycling, ARCUS has successfully demonstrated that PVC can be processed by pyrolysis at industrial scale, with up to 10% PVC integrated into mixed plastic waste streams – without compromising the quality of the recovered pyrolysis oil. This achievement has been confirmed by Professor Kevin Van Geem of Ghent University.
The project reflects VinylPlus' continued investment in circularity solutions and its commitment to advancing complementary technologies – such as smart sorting, dissolution, and pyrolysis – to manage mixed or contaminated PVC waste fractions that are difficult to recycle mechanically.
The results of the collaboration are detailed in the joint VinylPlus–ARCUS white paper, Transforming PVC Waste Through ARCUS Greencycling Technologies’ Pyrolysis Technology, available here.
