Executive Summary: Industry Risk Management Option Analysis for PVC additives

An industry Risk Management Option Analysis (i-RMOA) has been conducted on different chemical substances that are used as additives in the production of Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), following a request from VinylPlus®. The additives covered in this study are organotin stabilisers and ortho-phthalate plasticisers. The i-RMOA has been requested and developed in the context of possible regulatory actions on PVC and its additives that may be proposed by authorities in Europe in the coming years, as recommended recently in an investigation report published by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in 2023.
